The creation of the Aqaba Special
Economic Zone (ASEZA) has resulted in enormous growth and both foreign and international investment in the region. A number of exciting projects have commenced or are in the pipeline (eg. Saraya and Ayla residential canal and hotel developments) and the creation of world class educational institutions and hospitals are key social enablers to support further development.
As a consequence of this, Aqaba International School arose as a joint venture between Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), and GEMS. This partnership ensures that the funding and expertise is available to create a truly world class school in line with this vision.

The school offers IGCSE in Grade 10 (Year 11) and will offer appropriate qualifications beyond this as the school expands.
UniformThe school upholds uniform traditions, and a smart but functional uniform is sold by the school shop.
Year Groups
The school will eventually offer the full KG to Grade 12 (UK equivalent Years 1-13) range.
The school is currently up to Grade 8 (UK Equivalent Year 9). Grades 9/10 (IGCSE) will be added in August 2008.
