Aqaba International School Library is our central resource provider which facilitates the teaching and learning process and programs within our school. It caters for the educational needs of our students as well as providing for recreational reading.
Teachers plan and teach collaboratively with the Teacher Librarian so that students develop the skills of information literacy early in their school lives.
AIS library has a collection of some 9000 plus items in a variety of formats including quality picture books, novels, non-fiction, textbooks, graded reading schemes, CD’s, DVD’s, educational puzzles and games as well as an extensive collection of teacher resources.
A library guideline for schools
recommends a minimum of 12-15 items per student. Aqaba International School Library far surpasses this guideline and we are proud to be offering our students three times this amount of material to browse through and select for their learning and enjoyment during lunch and regular class borrowing times.
