Aqaba International School is a new and growing school which is developing modern facilities designed to enhance both students learning and meet recreation needs.
The school is a joint project of Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and GEMS. The school is one of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority’s (ASEZA) clearly identified social enablers to underpin the success of other exciting projects around Aqaba. Funding is committed to ensure that the facilities develop into standards expected of a truly international school.
The school is set on a very large section of land adjacent the Prince Rashid Club to which students have access. At present, the school consists of traditional air conditioned classrooms, a well equipped computer suite and library, a new art studio and science laboratory. Two shaded courtyards form the central hub of the school, and a separate KG playground caters for the ‘little people’.
As the school grows, basketball, netball and other court sports will be offered as well as field based activities. The next phase of the school will involve the building of specialized secondary classrooms as the school looks to add higher year groups each year until the full KG to Grade 12 spectrum is covered.
