Teachers and Support Staff

Teachers and the Support Staff at Aqaba International School are part of the greater GEMS family. GEMS employ an in-house team of 5,200 multi-skilled education professionals and staff from around the world who are supported by an advisory board of eminent educationalists. Dedicated, qualified and experienced teachers and support staff are selected for their expertise and their ability to create motivational atmospheres for students.

At Aqaba International School the

teaching staff is a hybrid of Jordanian and foreign teachers who together create a truly international experience for our students. The school has access to ongoing training programmes to ensure that the strategies, methods and resources used reflect the standards of best practice from around the world.

Personnel from GEMS Head Office in Dubai visit regularly to ensure that the quality of teaching is of the expected standard. All of our teaching staff are very well qualified and are selected for their abilities to create a motivational environment.

As part of our teaching philosophy, we expect teachers at the school to:

•	Actively engage students in their own learning
•	Systematically develop students learning skills so that they become increasingly independent.
•	Use assessments for learning techniques to help students to reflect on what they know and to set targets for the future.
